Golf, Minus the Weather

Tucked inside Haven House on Quay Street, The Green is one of Truro’s newest arrivals — and it’s not what you’d expect from a golf venue. Forget stuffy clubhouse rules and sideways rain on the back nine. This is golf with the weather taken out of the equation, where you can play Pebble Beach before lunch and still make it to the pub by two.

The four Trackman bays use the same simulator technology the pros train on, tracking everything from ball speed to spin rate. Handy if you’re serious about your game, but equally brilliant if you’ve never picked up a club — they’ve got loaners on site and the whole setup is designed to feel welcoming rather than intimidating. PGA-certified coaching is available too, if you fancy someone politely explaining why your driver keeps slicing right.

No membership, no handicap, no dress code. Book a bay, turn up, play. An hour of entertainment in central Truro for the price of a couple of pints is hard to argue with.

Who It’s For

It’s the kind of place that works for a surprising number of occasions. Mates catching up over a round and a few pints. Kids’ birthday parties with a competitive edge. Corporate events where people actually enjoy themselves.

The bar and lounge area is open to everyone, golfers or not. Good coffee, local craft beers, and a relaxed atmosphere that feels more independent hangout than sports bar. Worth knowing about on a wet Wednesday when the kids are climbing the walls, or when you want somewhere a bit different for a Friday evening.
